Methodology
Trust is the product
RBADay is a small aggregation layer. We publish a number only when it can be traced to a source, reference period or date and verification time.
| Metric | Organization | Implementation | Original source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cash rate target | Reserve Bank of Australia | RBA Cash Rate Target page and structured statistical data | Open |
| Meeting dates | Reserve Bank of Australia | Official Board Meeting Schedules · Australia/Sydney timezone | Open |
| Market expectation | ASX | ASX RBA Rate Tracker, when a value can be verified | Open |
| CPI, jobs and wages | Australian Bureau of Statistics | ABS Data API / release pages with reference periods | Open |
| Economist forecasts | RBA / institutions | Only dated, sourced views are shown; no independent RBADay forecast | Open |
Cash rate and meetings
Cash rate target values come directly from RBA source material. Meeting events keep the local time zone as Australia/Sydney and are converted to UTC for countdowns and storage.
Market expectations
ASX describes its RBA Rate Tracker as a probability indicator derived from ASX 30 Day Interbank Cash Rate Futures and updated after each business day. RBADay does not create a probability distribution from a futures yield itself.
If the ASX value cannot be legitimately and reliably consumed, the UI says “Market data temporarily unavailable” and the owner can enter a manual, sourced result through the admin workflow.
Mortgage calculator
The calculator uses monthly principal-and-interest amortisation. It is deterministic and runs locally. Inputs are never sent to the server or stored by default.
General information only — not financial advice. RBADay is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the RBA, ABS or ASX.
